How can the Desert Climate be affected by the Greenhouse effect?

0

A desert climate is such (in part) because there is so little moisture in the air (water vapor, a greenhouse gas), which equates to quicker radiation loss at night and a larger diurnal temperature range. A larger greenhouse effect in these areas would mean a slower loss of radiation to space at night; thus, a smaller diurnal temperature range (likely affecting both nighttime lows and daytime highs). Now this is a simplistic view of how the greenhouse effect affects a desert climate. My explanation above is true if nothing else changes. On a global scale, a larger greenhouse effect causes a more complex set of feedbacks, leading to an overall change in weather patterns, i.e some deserts may no longer be deserts, some may grow in size, etc.
