How can the committee continue to make safety an organizational priority?

0

Coordinate safety training between departments whenever possible. This improves uniformity of training throughout the organization and saves time and money by reducing the number of training sessions needed. In addition, the committee should consistently review safety programs and coordinate updates as needed. To help keep safety in the forefront, celebrate the positive accomplishments. Too often we use the “glass half empty” approach to safety which causes employees to perceive safety as a “no- win” situation. The successful safety committee spends a significant amount of time and resources in identifying positive accomplishments. By celebrating the progress made towards developing a strong safety culture, employees start to see the glass as “half full”, which in turn makes the next steps less daunting.
