First, pull the plug and wait until the rotor comes to a standstill (can take up to 5 minutes!). The emergency lid release is located on the bottom of the device: a small, white plastic button is located in the base plate in front of the front right device foot. Remove this and pull the cord vertically downwards. The lid will open. Please ensure that the cord retracts completely into the housing when you later close the lid. Press the plastic button back into the base plate.
