How can STDs be prevented from spreading?

To prevent spreading an STD: – Stop having sex until you see a Health Care Provider (HCP) [physician, PA, or Nurse Practitioner].- Follow your HCP’s instructions for treatment. – Always use condoms when having sex, but especially with new partners. – Do not return to having sex unless your HCP says it is OK to do so. – Follow up with your HCP to get retested. – Ensure your sex partner(s) are also screened and treated. You do not want to have sex with someone who infected you previously and did not get treated and cleared of the STD. Questions or comments about STDs may be addressed to the PA’s or Health Technicians working in the EDC Clinic, or to your HCP. For more information, please contact (910) 432-6925 or 9302.
