The identity of species under study can be confirmed by comparison with authenticated herbarium specimen in an accredited herbarium (listed in Index Herbariorum and available on the internet) or getting in authentication done at such a herbarium. The NHCP provides such identification services. Also ‘voucher’ specimens, are representative specimen of material used for study, are also accepted and included in the NHCP holdings.
