How can something so barbaric happen in todays world?
i have asked the same question, of my self and others especially those from africa and all are at a loss, some have of course gone into detail and others use the blanket approach bomb the lot or let them get on with it , but most of the trouble in africa is tribal and no matter what the rest of the world do and we have thrown billions of $ £ at this and we have put army’s of volunteer’s and the UN have thousands of soldiers in there Africans will be barbaric to Africans they truly believe that one tribe is superior to another and will rape ,starve kill , and sell into slavery those that are not of there tribe and when the rest of the world intervene we are called the aggressor, i truly have no answer, but if they won’t help themselves then we have no chance , even when bob geldoff brought Africa’s problems to the fore it was only putting a patch on a single problem , they must stop themselves if there is to be a cure,
Unfortunately, Faith, this happens with people whose mindset is still in the 8th or 9th centuries and are no part of the modern world in their thinking, culture or attitudes. It is certainly very bad timing for the UK Government, who have decided that certain elements of Sharia Law are acceptable. Let’s put it this way, we won’t put an end to it by our appeasement of Islam. Nor will we put an end to it by showing aggression to Islamic countries because George Bush has tried that with fatal results. I do think though that the Human Rights Act should not apply to Islamic terrorists either in the Uk or elsewhere: they should be deported to a country which embraces their mindset. There is no place for them in the West or any other civilised country.
Yes, I agree that this was utterly horrifying. Unfortunately it is part of Africa’s terrible catalogue of nightmare barbarism which continues to this day. I hope this will not be used by the usual Islamophobes to tar all Muslims with the same brush. Notionally Christian Africans have been guilty of nightmare acts, too, and I am certain all intelligent Muslims are equally horrified. There is little the developed world can do, sadly, beyond refusing all aid to regimes who do not suppress such davagery with an iron fist; but while Europe would doubtless be united on this, China – a demon state in its own right – would not.
