How can Social Services help?

0

If you think you will need help to meet the cost of a care home, either now or in the future, you (or someone acting on your behalf) should contact the local Social Services office and ask for an assessment. An assessment means that someone from Social Services will visit you, usually at home or in hospital to discuss your situation with you and help you to decide whether a move to a care home is appropriate. If your assessment by Social Services shows that moving to a care home is the most appropriate form of care for you a financial assessment will be arranged. This will be carried out by someone from the Finance Department of the Council of the Isles of Scilly who will work out how much you can afford to contribute. All information will be treated confidentially.
