School facilities are available to be used as emergency shelters and school system buses may be used for emergency transportation. With whom may I speak to obtain more information about school safety? Contact a school administrator for additional information about the safety plan for your childs school. You may also contact Mr. Tony Pickett, Coordinator of Administrative Services, Henry County Schools, at 770-957-6601 or Tony.Pickett@henry.k12.ga.us. In addition, you can contact the Georgia Emergency Management Agency at 404-635-7228 or www.gema.state.ga.us. You may also contact the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to the student’s school. The SRO unit is a division of the Henry County Sheriff’s Department. The SROs handle all law enforcement matters that occur within the school and the school safety zone, which is the 1,000 ft. area around school property.
