How can repair work be warrantied? For what period of time and at what cost?
Repair work has an industry standard one year warranty for workmanship and materials. However, the strata corporation can negotiate for a better warranty in the Construction Contract. A priority for the Homeowner Protection Office is the licensing of renovators and the establishment of mandatory warranties for renovations. This provision will be brought into force sometime in 1999. Call the Homeowner Protection Office for information.
