How can poverty be relieved from third world countries?
Mystique is the closest so far. Corruption is a massive problem. It’s not as easy as just handing over money, the countries need to get to the point where they can sustain themselves. It does require investment but a lot more also. Schools and infrastructure are also needed, as already mentioned, but again, it is easier said than done, and there are other requirements first. The first requirements are sound political and economic institutions. An accountable, democratic leadership should help to mimimise corruption. As the use of credit becomes widespread, the use of money (cash) is limited to transactions where the parties 1) do not trust each other or 2) do not expect to meet again in the near future. Money maybe exchange for articles of wealth and/or for services rendered. Only governments can print paper money. The same government can then issue it in exchange for goods and services. Therefore, the IMF and the World Bank are wrong when they said the poor nations of the third world do not have money, because money only needs to be printed by these goverments.
