A. Personalized license plates can be purchased from the Department of Licensing. Q: How do we tell the parents apart? A: The female is larger than the male. She’s a little bulkier but even we at times we have difficulty in telling them apart. They didn’t come in pink or blue! Q: When did nest building activity begin? A: In February 1993 the pair of eagles started perching in the tree and would on occasion bring in a stick. This appeared to be a back-up nest. Both eagles had white heads at this time. This tells us they were at least 4-5 years old. Q: When did young first start being raised in the nest? A: 1997 was the first year they made use of the nest in raising young. Only one offspring left the nest each year. Our vantage point was very limited yet we knew they were nesting and probably did have young. They were feeding something in the nest and when the ‘something’ began sitting on the edge of the nest and took first flight it was obvious. Q: What does the nest consist of? Winter
