How can parents and Mrs. Arnold communicate with each other?
At the end of each week I prepare a weekly report sheet to tell parents about what we have been doing and share some observations on the progress of the class as a whole. The sheet also includes space for notes on individual joys and concerns, behavior, missing work, reminders of upcoming events, and parent comments or questions. I ask parents to take time over the weekend to read this report and then sign the bottom and return it on Monday in the student’s homework folder. This folder is also a good place to tuck in notes or forms that need to reach me any day of the week. Another feature of the homework folder is the What’s Happening? sheet which gives reminders of tests, projects and activities for the current week. I am also happy to make arrangements to talk with parents on the phone or set up a meeting time that will work for both of us.
