How can our society prevent internet child sex predators from becoming a danger?

having raised 4 daughters in the 90’s, they are all adults now, I can tell you what I did. There were no computers in the bedrooms. The computers were in the main room where an adult was watching them at all times. They got online to do their homework, that was it. Back then we had dialup so it was easy to control. When my wife and I were away and the teenagers were home alone, the computers had bios passwords on them. Anyone who sets up an internet connected computer in their child’s bedroom for them to use in private needs their head examined. I don’t care how responsible and smart they seem. There is far too much stuff on the internet a child just doesn’t need access to. You aren’t depriving them of anything. We all got along just fine with no internet in our bedrooms when we were young.
