How can operators interface with FactNet models?
The operators can interface with FactNet in a number of ways. In controls systems based on FactNet models, the model predictions are written back to the DCS by the IMAS system. The values can then be displayed and trended just like normal process signals. Model predictions can also be trended using the IMAS trend package or reported and automatically updated in Excel spreadsheets using the IMAS Report Generator. For additional tools for on-line troubleshooting, the FactNet run-time program is used. The run-time version of FactNet allows operators to determine the causes of process or quality changes using the wide range of tools available in FactNet.
