How can one deal with icing on WARP?
Again, WARP tower acts like a thin exterior skin high rise building which fends off icing through residual passive and active internal heating. WARP modules are comprised of a very thin aerodynamic skin which, along with the nested turbines, is able to be coated with ice resistant compound [e.g. coating StaClean, shown effective in the Yukon, Canada]. The ability of WARP to generate heat — passively through internally located operational wind turbine generators, and/or active space heaters and also passive solar heating of the tower — can serve as effective anti-icing and deicing means. Other proprietary anti-icing approaches also exist.
