The purposes of UMRA are to provide useful information to members and to organize meetings approximately once each month during the academic year. Talks on topics of interest to retired U-M faculty and staff (e.g., Medicare, health insurance, U-M retirement benefits, etc.) are presented at several of the meetings, while other gatherings are of a social nature. UMRA meetings and social hours are normally held each month during the academic year, on Thursday afternoons.
