Walgreen’s, Wal-Mart, CVS, Target, and many others have a service in which you bring in your tapes (VHS, Beta, 8mm, etc) and they send them out to a company to transfer them to DVD. The cost is about $30 for up to 2 hours worth of DVD. Nothing fancy, no editing, no clean-up of video, no creative labeling, just strictly transfer. (And you get your original tape(s) back, too.) Problem is, if it’s a tape that was commercially produced by another company, they will return it to you without transferring it because they worry about copyright issues. If that’s the case, you’re only option is to do it yourself, or personally find someone capable who’s willing to do it for you.
