Our ultimate goal is to ensure our continued position as one of the nation’s best values, combining quality and affordability to deliver a very strong return on investment for our students. By comparison to our peers and to the national average, NC State tuition remains low. (According to the College Board, the national average for tuition and fees is $7,605 vs. NC State’s current tuition rate of $6,529 for in-state undergraduates.) One of the ways we can support a relatively low tuition while maintaining and building on the quality of the institution is by attracting new endowment gifts. Endowment gifts give the university funding flexibility in a variety of ways. But, endowment growth takes time.
