The best way for managers to encourage adoption of virtual communications tools is to set an example and demonstrate the benefits of using technologies to enhance performance. As with any new approach to solving problems in organizations, leadership must endorse the recommended behavior and processes. If leadership simply advocates a new approach, but does not model the behavior, the desired results will not be achieved.
