How can Management Authorities share permit data through EPIX?
Permit-data-exchange tools have been designed so that participant Management Authorities can participate in the project regardless of the type of information-management system they use. Automated webservices have been developed by Parties to provide a service orientated approach (to supply data on demand) or a data orientated approach (to supply data periodically). It is also possible for MAs to add data by sending batches of data periodically. Permit data can also be simply supplied by email when issuing authorities verify permit details on a case-by-case basis following a query submitted by another Party. These routes are described in more detail below. a) Automated data provision: For Management Authorities which have systems capable of automatic data exchange Management Authorities that have developed automatic data transfer tools can establish a schema with UNEP-WCMC (e.g. via XML) for automated data exchange.
