How can leave under FMLA be taken?

0

FMLA leave can be taken all at one time, or when medically necessary, it may be taken on either a reduced schedule or intermittent leave basis. A reduced leave schedule is a leave schedule that reduces an employee’s usual number of workdays per workweek, or hours per workday (i.e., an employee who worked 5 days a week, now works 4 days a week; or an employee who worked 8 hours a day, now works 6 hours a day). Intermittent leave may include periods of leave of differing increments (i.e., two hours on one occasion, three weeks on another). If leave is taken on either a reduced schedule or intermittent basis, only the time the employee is actuallyon leave may be subtracted from the employee’s 12 week leave entitlement.
