How can learners access qualifications for regulation and registration purpose at level 2 or 3 when they are entering below these levels?
The QCF allows learners below level 2 to undertake Foundation Learning qualifications . These include qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1 and provide support with Skills for Life and employability skills, allowing learners to progress to level 2 qualifications and above when they are ready. Employability skills include the new functional skills of communication, number and ICT. Skills for Care are working with Jobcentre Plus to create a Sector Route-way for Social Care which will allow people who are interested in working in Social Care to develop these skills ready to progress to a level 2 qualification. Knowledge based qualifications will be available at both Level 2 and 3 aimed at learners who are considering working in adult social care. These will principally be taken by learners in school or college and would allow them to progress to an Apprenticeship or to work in social care at a later date. The units within these qualifications mirror closely to the knowledge elements o
