How can it be used as a flux, especially when a cone or button test of spodumene doesn melt/vitrify in my kiln at 1200&degC max?

Spodumene’s melting point is 1420&degC approx. By itself, spodumene cone/button does not flux but if any other flux like feldspars or nepheline syenite is present in the batch formulation, spodumene increases the fluxing power of the other flux due to the eutectic reaction between them.
