How can it be allergic conjunctivitis and not bacterial?!?

0

Various eye docs have not gotten my eyes clear. Most recently they are saying I have dry eyes and allergic conjunctivitis. But I’ve never had a problem with seasonal allergies, and when I was taking antibiotic eye drops weeks ago my eyes were responding better…also, the onset of the problem happened when I had an upper respiratory infection, which tends to indicate viral or bacterial conjunctivitis, and most importantly I have thick green-yellow discharge, a heave collection in the morning. Docs say they do not see bacteria in my eye, but have not done a culture. I’m so confused!
