How can instructors customize the exam scoring?
By spring 2006 there should be a filter which you can use to automatically subtract various grammatical areas from the exam scoring. Until then, the manual way to accomplish is to go to each student’s exam results and not take of the points in the grammatical areas you wish to subtract from the exam. Subtract those points (both the student’s earned points and total points) from the overall total of student earned points and total available points for the exam. Then divide to get your customized score. Another way to adjust the exam results is by adjusting the content rather than the scoring. Instructors can add as many of their own questions to the national exam by first creating those questions in their account and the creating a Specialized Comparative Exam (SCE). In this way you can emphasize and de-emphasize by adding to the total number of questions on the exam in the grammatical categories that you most care about.
