Yes you can wash it in the machine if your machine is big enough. If not, go to your local launderette and do it in one of their big machines. When I take mine to my local launderette, they give me tennis balls to put in with it when tumble drying. These help to fluff it up again. If you don’t have a dryer at home, it could take over a week to dry properly and you have to shake it a couple of times a day to get the feathers fluffed up. I have just washed my feather pillows at home, but because I have more than one set, leaving them to dry for a week wasn’t a problem.

the dry cleaners or tesco’s cleaning aisle near the stain removers there’s a clear bottle with clear contents which is a dry cleaning fluid sprinkle it all over the duvet put it in the tumbler for half an hour the heat activates the fluid which is exactly what the dry cleaners do on a bigger scale.

I wash my duvets BUT I have a F&D which is pocket stitched & my machine has a duvet setting. Although it is time consuming drying them, either tumbled or line drying. Alternatively there is the previously mentioned tumble dry dry clean option.
