How can I used Cubase VST and TR-909 with MDIN sync conveter?
A. If you are planning to use PC software sequencer with any of sync converters you should have MIDI card with solid MIDI timing installed on your computer.Sound Blaster or other cards with MIDI software emulated port can have timing delays in start / clock and they not suitable for sync application. Cubase works fine with proper MIDI card up to version 5 as well as Cubase SX. If you have problem with CUBASE timing , the best solution – to use TR-909 like MIDI master clock and Cubase VST like a MIDI slave sync by connecting converter’s MIDI IN and computer’s Cubase MIDI IN via MIDI thru box to TR-909 MIDI output port.
