In order to get the drive only off the CD, follow these steps and you’ll be fine. 1. Do not install the Garmin GPS 18 CD-ROM software. 2. Plug in the GPS 3. Windows will indicate that it has found a new USB device 4. Place the Garmin CD into the computer 5. Click Cancel to abort the Garmin install 6. Click to have the USB setup to scan the disk for drivers 7. Follow onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
