Submitted: 2004/04/07; Answered: 2004/03/31 by Jonathan Schug Query form for finding TRANSFAC factor entries. Beside searching for binding sites in DNA sequence, TESS also let’s you query TRANSFAC directly. These capabilities are accessible through the Query Transfac and Query Matrices links at the top of every page. To answer this frequently-asked question, follow these steps: • click on the Query Transfac link, then click on the Factors link. • use the popup menu ‘Search in this field’ and select the ‘Name’ option. • enter c-Jun in the ‘Search for this text’ text box. • use the popup menu ‘Return results as a list of’ and select the ‘All Sequences’ option. • click the submit button. You may want to preview which factors match c-Jun. Do this by selecting ‘Accession Numbers’ from the popup menu in the Results section. To select a few factor entries of interest, select ‘Accession Number’ in the ‘Search in this field’ popup menu and enter, for example, T00131|T00133.
