How can I use Serv-U on a DEC Alpha system?

The 16-bit version of Serv-U will work on the Alpha, but you won’t get long file names with it. The 32-bit version works too, but needs a little help. DEC is giving away a 32-bit x86 emulator/translator named FX32!. This will allow you to run Win32 programs written for the Intel processor on Alpha. It is pretty smart, since unlike a normal emulator it translates the most used parts of the code into native Alpha code, making it run almost as fast as real Alpha programs would. By the way, if you use the automated setup program to install Serv-U on an Alpha, it will believe it is running on an Intel based NT system and install the 32-bit version of Serv-U (The setup program itself is a 16-bit Windows program, so it will work fine). The thus installed version of Serv-U will not work without the emulator mentioned above.
