It’s pretty safe as long as you are doing transactions on certified sites on your Home PC. To get started, do a small transaction (under Rs100) with any of the famous shopping sites to get a feel of the entire process. You will find that your first time nervousness will go away fast 🙂 Tips: 1. Verify if the payment page is https:// – very important 2. Look for the padlock icon in your browser, click on it to view the certificate. 3. If you find the site design a bit crappy, with error pages, its better to refrain from transacting with those sites – they don’t deserve your hard earned money anyways. 4. Don’t hit refresh, back or front button while the transaction is in progress 5. Use a card which allows you to set a PIN or security question for online transactions.
