How can I unlock my Creda Schott Ceran hob?

I have just moved into a house with a Creda Schott Ceran ceramic hob installed, but I have no idea how to bring it to life. It has a power switch which if I hold my finger on it lights up a tiny red light next to it, but nothing else happens. there is a key symbol button next to it which I assume is a lock of some kind, then below these are 8 semi circular shapes which I guess are the controls for the plates. There is nothing on the hob in terms of a model number and I don’t have a manual but I do have some pictures if they will help.
