If there is any way at all, it would be by bus. Using Greyhound, you’ll likely have to go via Boston. Using SMT/Acadian, you’d probably have to switch buses in New Brunswick (a bit out of the way). According to Bangorinfo.com, Cyr Bus Line sometimes offers trips to Quebec City… you can check with them whether they do Montreal, too, or else you can make your way from Quebec City to Montreal by bus or Via Rail Canada. If you want to do most of the trip by train, you’ll need to go by bus to Portland, take one train to Boston, another to Albany, and another to Montreal. For less transfers, but longer, you could go by bus to Moncton, and Via Rail Canada overnight to Montreal. With neither bus nor train… use Craigslist; there may be someone heading that way with an extra seat. Alternatley, you can put an ad seeking a ride. Or, visit your local colleges, and use their rideshare boards (if any), or inquire if they have any Montreal trips planned that are open to the public.
