The address book is incompatible because the field names are different. You will have to export your address book to an excel file, change the field names, and then import it into Outlook 2001. The step-by-step process is below. It took me a couple of tries, so I included my tips in the instructions below. 1) Within Outlook Express, go to File menu and select Export Contacts. 2) Open the resulting text file (probably named Contacts Export) in Excel. 3) Save as Text (tab Delimited), which will probably be the default choice. You will convert it to CSV (comma separated) later, but I found it necessary to keep as Tab delimited for the purposes of modifying the field names. 4) Modify the field names as necessary, according to the list below. The list is organized alphabetically, and not in the order in which the fields appear in your excel document. Its a pain, but it wont matter in the conversion process.
