How can i transfer my files from desktop to laptop via wireless router?
Hi There, I do that often from my desktop to laptop and vice versa. I have a folder on the desktop of each computer named “Xfer”. You can use any name you like. On each computer right click the file and enable “Sharing” Next you need to set up a network on the desktop. It will be the “Host” computer. When the network wizard sets up the network on the desktop it will offer to save the “settings” on a flash drive (or floppy disk if you have one). That’s the recommended way. You can do it manually but there is a lot to write down and enter into the laptop. The wizard will ask yo for a name for your network (MSHome is default) also if you want to turn on file and printer sharing. You could also enable sharing the desktop internet connection (but you don’t need to do that). The setup files and settings are written to the flash drive and you are instructed to insert the flash drive in the “client” computer (laptop) and click on the “setup.exe” file.
