How can I train my 6 month kitten to use the litter box?
The steps to take: -Show her the box -Have Clean boxes -Have the boxes in a private place -Keep food and water far away from the boxes -Properly wash everything with a pet stain product with the enzyme needed to break down pet odors To get her to use the box is to show her where it is and how to dig in it with her paws first, do this about 10 minutes after she eats, when you wake up in the morning, and when she has an accident. If you have 4 cats you should have at least 2 boxes. Cats don’t like a dirty or smelly box. For one cat, I have 1 box and scoop it 2-3 times a day and change it 2-3 times a week. After a while, even with washing the box, it gets old and holds the odors and needs to be tossed out and replaced. I use a clumping litter so I can remove the urine as well and sometimes I need to add some litter. They like privacy, so make sure the boxes aren’t in high traffic area’s like the kitchen or hallways. I have mine in the bathroom where my cat can have privacy but I go in the
