if you are in the UK, you need to work out which record offices, hold the parish records for your ancestors, so for example, london parishes are held at the national archives (as are all parish records, well most) and also at the family records centre in London. another example is that parishes in Sussex, are held at the Sussex record office in Lewes, and Kent are held at the Maidstone Record Office.
