How can I test if a dish or cookware is safe to use in a microwave oven?
Rating: 85 If a dish is not marked safe for use in a microwave oven, you can test it with the following procedure. Put one cup of water in a microwavable container. Place the cup of water and the dish to be tested in the microwave. Microwave on high for one minute. If the water is hot but the test dish is not, then it is safe to use this dish in the microwave oven. If your microwave oven has an infrared browning unit then only glass and ceramic dishes should be used when using the browning unit. PREPARED BY: Angela M.
