How can I tell if my PC has a working IR Port that is compatible with Easy Upgrade?

Most laptops have an IrDA Port built in. Most desktop PCs do not have a built in IrDA Port. To determine if your PC has a working IRDA port, select SETTINGS – CONTROL PANEL from the START button (or just START – CONTROL PANEL for Windows XP). If your PC has a working IrDA port, there will be an entry in the CONTROL PANEL for Wireless Links. Double click on Wireless Links and select the Hardware tab. An IrDA port should be listed with an indication that the device is working properly. In some cases, a laptop may have a built in IrDA port that is not enabled. Check the laptop manufacturer’s user manual for instructions on enabling the IrDA port.
