Any reputable retailer of sports equipment will sell HECC certified helmets and face protectors. Look for the HECC label on the back of the helmet and/or on the face protector. Also, the literature with the packaging will indicate if a product is HECC certified. Answer: HECC does not write standards, it merely adopts standards already developed by recognized standard writing organizations such as ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and CSA (Canadian Standards Association). • What leagues require the HECC certification for player and goaltender helmets?
