How can i tell how old and what sex my rose hair tarantula is??
I’m not terribly familiar with the Rose Hair but I can give you some general tarantula answers. As a dealer I have carried several Rose Hairs and Red Knees as well as African Baboon Spiders but have never kept one more than a few months myself. I have had native N. American tarantula pets. The Rose Hair is a beautiful spider, you chose well. Most male tarantulas only live for about a year or through the breeding season. They don’t need to live any longer than that and they supply the female with a protean boost to help nourish the developing eggs. Female tarantulas may live as long as 20 years. Most reputable pet stores only sell females because of this.
