How can I teach my cat to shake hands?
Teaching your cat tricks is SO fun and it can be done. The thing you have to keep in mind is that like dogs, they need to be tempted with a treat. And you kind of have to make sure they havent eaten in a while… so they REALLY want the treat. Of course dont starve him, but maybe a few hours after hes eaten. To sit: 1) Hold treat (i use a piece of tofurky haha but any meat will do) in your left hand and make a hand motion that you will continue to use as a sign to “sit”… 2) Let him smell the food, say “sit” and gently push his butt down 3) Give him the treat and a lot of positive reinforcement 4) Repeat until he does it on his own!
