well i don’t know if this helps, but im currently doing my room a similar way….umm im having two pink walls and painting/tracing a flower/vine designe thats not very big but not very small at the top of my wall on the pink side….and then im painting my third wall black and MY FAV part is my fourth wall im painting black then using white & pink paint to write/paint/trace words on it kind of in the style of the misery buisness (song by paramore) backround. with all the words just slashed, or written fancy or in bold everywhere…hope that helps, lol OH it might be even cooler if you take that idea and put in hot pink curtains by the window…

I am an artist. When I was learning about painting (artistic painting, not house painting), I was told that there are many kinds of beautiful black colors that you can create by mixing colors to create a dark color that you can substitute for pure black. They said that pure, true black is ugly and you should never use that in a painting, because true black is very dead and dull looking. They also said that pure black is generally not found in nature. So what I would recommend for you is to use a dark purple or something like that instead of actual black. Then you have a color that is like black but more lively and beautiful.

For sure, use a flat paint. Semi-gloss or gloss will show every imperfection in the wall. Some chrome frames on mirrors or picture on the wall would look really kewl.

I personally wouldnt do it. I see a lot of houses every year that have at least one room painted black and doesnt look good. Plus is extremely hard to paint the same wall white again, you will need to paint several layers. Once you go black, you can’t go back.

an idea might be to get a big piece of black material and hang it up over the wall that you want to paint black. this way you’ll get an idea of what it’ll look like without it being permanent. i personally think that it’ll look great.
