How can I stop shaving bumps? Driving me crazy?
Hero, I am white so I cannot speak directly to the problem. However, this is what I have learned from reading. Try to find the “bump fighter” razors. They are supposed to work. Also do not try to shave too close. These fancy 5 blade razors are too much. They leave the cut end of the hair too close to the skin surface and thus make them more likely to ingrow. Instead of using a soap based shave cream, find a gel like King of Shaves Alpha Gel (CVS or Target online) or an actual shaving cream like Calvin Klein. It has no drying soaps to suck the moisture out of your skin. Plus if your shave cream is soap based the first thing it does is break up the expensive shave oil and render it useless. My mates in the military used a dilpilitory cream, and a credit card to “shave”. It smelled bad, and their skin could only take that abuse about twice a week. Change the razor, do not shave close, and change the shave cream. See if those help.
