The simple and legal answer is … you can’t. TPS only governs call centres in the UK, so while registering will stop your local double glazing or utilities company phoning you, if the call originated from outwith the UK (like many mobile phone companies) there’s nothing that can be done to stop it. You can ask your telephone provider to barr anonymous callers, which means the call centre must identify themselves on caller display otherwise the call is automatically rejected, the numbers are either shown on your keypad screen or as a message saying unavailable international number so you know to ignore the call. Some good news is that with the current economic climate many of the work which was outsourced to call centres in India is being brought back to the UK to create jobs and rebuild customer relations One more thing to take into consideration… the TPS database is renewed and released to the call centres every month, this is why it takes around 28 days for the Telephone Preferenc
