How can I stop and prevent spammers from using my own email address to send me spam?
there is a couple of choices – either mark the senders domain as spam, or use an application such as eMail bully (i’m sure theres a mac version) before an email arrives in your inbox you run the bully and then decide which are spam and which are not, this will then bounce the email back to them, which indicates the address is invalid, this takes a little while, but eventually the spammers will blacklist/ban your email address, and you should be spam free.
