You can control-click (command-click on Mac) on the waveform at the required start point. Also if you show the Time Line (View menu) then you can click on the Time Line. • “What is the recommended way to use markers?” My preferred way of marking a section of music is to play it through once, tapping the ‘M’ key at the start of each measure. If you want the beats marked then double-click the first marker and specify auto subdivisions – I very seldom use actual beat markers. And if you want the sections marked then double-click (or right-click) the relevant measure marker and convert it to a section marker (or use ‘S’ instead of ‘M’ for marking it in the first place). Remember that the Navigation Bar (View menu) allows you to go directly to any marker.
