How can I start investing as a college student?

I’m actually a high school student, starting college this fall. And I’ve already started investing. The smart thing to do as a college student would be to talk to your parents and get a hold of the bank you go through and set up a meeting. They will help you get started. You’ll want to have your account under your parents name, and account. If you choose to invest under your name and account. Your college will require you provide that information on your financial aid. And that will be considered a source of income for you.

Hello, The first thing to have in mind when investing: Just invest your “extras”, I mean money you won’t be needing in the short term. A good and profitable investor invest for the Long Run so wont be buying and selling very often, separate some money and just “forget” about it. Second: As you are a young person, I would advice to invest in the equity market mainly, the best vehicles (in terms of costs) for me are the passive ETFs. You could buy with any broker account some SnP500 or FTSE100 Index Tracker, they are very cheap (less than 0.10% fee annually) and it is a pretty decent way to invest for begginers. I hope this has helped you. Please drop any other question/comment you would have.

Kind regards,

Antonio
