As primary key is an attribute or a set of attributes in a relation that is used to uniquely identify each record of that relation. There are following steps that are to be followed to set a primary key in the relation: 1. Select a field for a primary key. 2. Select a primary key icon from the Table Design tool bar or select a submenu ‘primary key’ from the main Edit menu. The field that is chosen as a primary key will be marked with a Key shaped symbol in the selector button. 3. Now click on the save icon from the tool bar or choose save option from File menu. A Save as dialog box will appear. Enter the table name and click ok. The primary key that consists of more than one field/attribute is called a composite primary key. In order to define a composite primary key follow the steps given above with some modifications in the first step only. 1.
