How can I safely stop taking Lamictal?
I took this medacine for months. I did have horrible side effects from this med. I was taking 200mg twice a day. We started by cutting the 200mg to 100mg 2x a day for a week, then 50mg twice a day for a week, then 25mg twice a day for a week then 25 mg once a day for a week then I stopped it and switched to Cymbalta, Xanax, and Adderall combination. This seems to be the perfect combination for me. I also take Ambien on occasion when I cannot sleep. DO NOT stop this med cold turkey. I am a nurse and have seen people who were NOT sucidial start feeling like they wanted to hurt others and themselves. A good friend of mine went this med cold turkey and she had some very bad side effects from this. My professional opinion is to contact your doctor before doing anything with your meds, however if you are dead set on not taking it my best advice is to at least take 3/4 or 1/2 at bare min to get your self off this med.
